Introduced to U.S. gardeners in 1946, this crimson-coated member of the Gladiolus family has remained a popular variety ever since! Scarlet red blooms with a striking silvery-white picotee edge allow this stunner to stand out in the summer landscape. In the spring, strongly ribbed, sword-like foliage emerges from the ground and quickly grows up to 36 inches tall.
Capable of withstanding temperatures below zero, Gladiolus Atom is an excellent addition to mixed perennial gardens. The slim leaves and willowy flower stalks require a small footprint but offer an unbelievable jolt of brilliant color. Oh, and did we mention hummingbirds can't get enough of the fiery flowers?
